Arizona State junior guard Alonzo Verge Jr. is on the upcoming NBA Draft’s list of early entry candidates, a list released Tuesday. Verge joins junior guard Remy Martin and junior center Romello White as the Sun Devils’ third player on the list.
Verge, the Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year, averaged 14.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. It was Verge’s first season playing with ASU after transferring from Moberly Area Community College in late 2018.
Like Martin and White, Verge is not projected to be drafted.
NCAA rules state players have until June 3 to inform their schools whether or not they will be returning, but that date could change with the possibility of the draft being pushed back.
If the trio was to return to Tempe and not stay in the draft, the Sun Devils would be the preseason favorites for the Pac-12. Bobby Hurley signed five-star guard Josh Christopher and four-star wing Marcus Bagley, the program’s highest-rated recruiting class ever.
