Everyone had their first reaction to the Arizona Cardinals’ 2020 regular season schedule, and team president Michael Bidwill got to see them for his head coach and general manager.
In a video shared by the team, Bidwill revealed the schedule to Steve Keim and Kliff Kingsbury.
Bidwill noted some of the major takeaways from the matchups, including Kingsbury and Kyler Murray returning to Texas for Monday Night Football in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys.
“Kyler will be fired up going home for Monday night,” Kingsbury said. “He’ll like that one.”
Another notable game for Kingsbury is traveling to New England to coach against the Patriots, who drafted Kingsbury in the sixth round of the 2001 NFL Draft.
“I’ve been back once to watch a game since but we’ll get that crisp fall weather as well so it’ll be a lot of fun,” Kingsbury said.
Keim’s main takeaways, jokingly, were the scouting trips out East and the potential food options there.
Bidwill discussed the schedule as well on Arizona Sports’ Big Red Rage.
“I like the schedule,” he said. “I like the way it lays out.”
It includes a trip out East against the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets, where he says the team will plan on staying on that coast through the two weeks.
“We’re gonna analyze that as we get a little deeper into the details but it’s exciting to be able to try and minimize that East coast three-hour time change and the long flights so having that two back-to-back is great,” Bidwill said.
There’s some respect from the league too, with two primetime games and the potential for a third in Week 16.
“Clearly they’re seeing something here that we’re seeing,” he said.
One of them, of course, is the MNF matchup.
“I think it’s going to be a lot of fun and it certainly will be worthy of the national stage,” Bidwill said.
