Cardinals have 8th-most travel miles on 2020 NFL schedule

The Arizona Cardinals will spend a lot of time on airplanes in 2020.
The team has the eighth most travel miles on its 2020 schedule in the NFL, with 19,456, according to CBS Sports. They also have two trips in which they’ll travel more than 2,000 miles.
The Cardinals’ very first game of 2020 is on the road, as they have to go to San Francisco. Arizona also has back-to-back East Coast games in Weeks 4 and 5, traveling to play the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets. The mileage from CBS Sports assumes that Arizona stays out east for that trip.
Cardinals president Michael Bidwill told the Big Red Rage in May that the team has looked at staying out east between the games at the Panthers and Jets. They did the same in 2015, staying at the Greenbrier in West Virginia.
“I think when we look at it, yes. We’ll look at The Greenbrier,” Bidwill said. “We’ll look at some other places, too.
“We’re going to analyze that as we get a little deeper into the details, but it’s exciting to try to minimize that East Coast, three-hour time change and the long flights. You know, having those two back-to-back is great.”
In Week 6, Arizona has its third straight road game with a trip to Dallas.
Arizona will have back-to-back road games again in Weeks 11 and 12, playing at Seattle and at New England. The first of those games is on Thursday Night Football, though, which means the road games are 10 days apart.
The NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks were No. 1 with 28,982. The Baltimore Ravens only have to go 6,420 miles this year, the lowest number in the NFL.
