The 2020 Major League Baseball schedule will be revealed Monday night starting at 3 p.m. MST.

MLB Network will air a one-hour special for the release of each team’s 60-game regular season. Matt Vasgersian will host the television event that will include analysis from Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci.

The first games of the 2020 schedule will take place Thursday, July 23, and Friday, July 24.

Each MLB club will face 40 divisional opponents with 20 more interleague games against the corresponding division. For the Arizona Diamondbacks, that means the team will play 40 games against National League West opponents with 20 more against the American League West division. That was done to limit travel amid the coronavirus.

The D-backs ramped up preparation for the abbreviated year with team workouts at Chase Field over the July 4 weekend even though some players have tested positive for the virus since the team began testing its players.

MLB continues to navigate uncertainty about best practices to keep its players safe in training camps. The Washington Nationals, for example, cancelled workouts Monday after not receiving results of coronavirus tests taken Friday. General manager Mike Rizzo said in a statement that MLB needed to work on improving processes, blaming the league’s lab.

The Houston Astros have also cancelled their workouts for the same reason, while the Oakland Athletics could do the same, according to reports.
