Kyler Murray probably doesn’t like his Madden NFL 21 ratings

Very conservatively, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is a top-15 NFL quarterback after he met the quite high expectations of being the No. 1 pick in 2019.

Getting a little more spicy with opinions, he’s a top-10 quarterback now with the potential to become one of the best two or three in the NFL some day. It’s from there where we jump into the virtual realm and consider the rankings for Madden NFL 21, some of which were slowly being revealed Monday.

Murray is the second-fastest quarterback with a speed rating of 91, which is well behind Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson’s 96.

Accurate?

The Cardinals’ Twitter account wrote “We see you, @K1” in response to the reveal from the EA account, to which Murray wrote …

“Na…” you actually can’t see him because he’s zipping by opponents too fast?

“Na…” because he doesn’t like that 91 rating being closer to Taysom Hill’s 90 than Jackson’s 96?

Murray did not appear top-10 in throw power, either, which seems to disrespect his compact and powerful throwing motion.

Statistically, he was one of the more accurate deep-ball throwers in the NFL during his rookie season, according to Pro Football Focus stats.

It’s fine to quibble about Murray not making the top 10 in throw power — except for the fact that two rookies made the top-10, as did a few veterans who probably don’t have better cannons than the Cardinals quarterback.

Joe Flacco is a backup for the New York Jets, after all. First-year New England Patriots signal-caller Cam Newton was changing his throwing motion last year with the Carolina Panthers due to a shoulder injury. He only played in two games because of his throwing struggles!

Anyway, the Madden 21 ratings won’t be revealed in full until Friday, but we already know Murray didn’t crack the top-10 at his position. Again, that’s not the most ludicrous thing.

He’s got a lot more to prove in his second season.

But yeah, you can already tell he’s not exactly keen on what’s been revealed so far.
