It is now clear why Aron Baynes has not been seen in social media videos from the bubble.

The Phoenix Suns center tested positive for the coronavirus, he said to Stadium’s Shams Charania in a video tweeted Wednesday afternoon.

Baynes remains in Phoenix and he did not go to the Orlando bubble.

He said he is hoping to join the Suns at some point, but he needs to register two negative tests before the league will allow him to do so.

Baynes said he has not played basketball in a month.

Baynes experienced symptoms but did not go into much detail beyond saying that he slept “for four days straight.” He said that Wednesday was the first time he worked out and felt normal after doing so.

He went into isolation after testing positive.

“I’m still not (testing negative). I’m in protocol where I have the antibodies that we’ve tested, I have antibodies so I’m not contagious, but I still need those negatives because, end of the day, that’s the criteria the NBA has set up,” Baynes said.

Members of Baynes’ family also tested positive. He said they were exposed to COVID-19 after he was.

Baynes said he was affected more by the symptoms than his family members were.

They have since tested negative.

Point guard Elie Okobo and guard Jalen Lecque are the two other players not in Orlando with the Suns. They are away due to personal matters, head coach Monty Williams said Wednesday.
