Phoenix Suns guard Elie Okobo has joined the team in the NBA bubble at Walt Disney World but won’t be available to play Sunday in the scrimmage against Boston, according to head coach Monty Williams.
While Okobo is rejoining the Suns, guard Jalen Lecque and center Aron Baynes have yet to arrive after not traveling with the team on July 7, according to The Athletic’s Joe Vardon.
Head coach Monty Williams previously said the delay for Okobo and Lecque was due to personal reasons, while Baynes confirmed to Stadium’s Shams Charania that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Ricky Rubio was also missing during the Suns’ initial time in the bubble after testing positive for the coronavirus.
Rubio rejoined the team on July 17 and “should play” in a scrimmage against the Boston Celtics on Sunday 10:30 a.m., according to Williams.
The team has an additional scrimmage against the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday at noon before beginning seeding games against the Washington Wizards on Friday, July 31 at 1 p.m.
All three games can be heard on ESPN 620 AM.
