Cardinals add depth with S Kentrell Brice and WR Andre Patton

The Arizona Cardinals added to their secondary with safety Kentrell Brice and gave another option for Kyler Murray, picking up wide receiver Andre Patton.

The team made both additions official on Wednesday in a release.

Brice would join a safety corps that is led by All-Pro Budda Baker but leaves second-year players Jalen Thompson and Deionte Thompson as the top options for the other starting spot.

Rookie Isaiah Simmons saw time at the position in college but is expected to see more playing time at linebacker with the Cardinals.

Brice has spent time with the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears.

All of Brice’s regular season action came with Green Bay from 2016 to 2018.

He appeared in 36 games, starting 14 of them. He has one career interception and 100 career tackles, including 82 solo tackles and 18 assists.

He was cut by the Bears on July 28, allowing Arizona the chance to sign the undrafted, 25-year-old Louisiana Tech product.

Patton started five games last season with the Los Angeles Chargers, making six catches for 56 yards.

The undrafted 26-year-old out of Rutgers has also seen time on special teams after joining the Chargers in 2017.

He was released on Saturday, allowing the Cardinals to pick him up.
