Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been out for the Cardinals’ last two practices due to left hamstring tightness, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury.
With the Houston Texans reportedly trading Hopkins in part because of the wide receiver wanting his contract reworked, there is now the question of if or when the Cardinals do that.
Naturally, this has led to unsubstantiated rumors on Hopkins holding out, a question posed by SB Nation’s Revenge of the Birds.
That post was shared by the Houston Chronicle’s John McClain, who covered Hopkins in Houston, which had it come across Hopkins’ Twitter timeline.
He quickly addressed and snuffed that out.
No Deandre Hopkins is not holding out. From the source. https://t.co/ok0mrlunP8

The Cardinals started on-field work on Wednesday and the first practice in pads was on Monday.
“He’s working, getting better each day and I expect him back soon,” Kingsbury said of Hopkins on Monday.
Kingsbury said he is not concerned about Hopkins missing that time.
“He’s been so productive in this league, he’s a pro’s pro when it comes to knowing what it takes for him to have his body ready and his mind ready to perform in Week 1,” Kingsbury said. “You’d obviously like (quarterback) Kyler (Murray) to get a few more reps with him but they got some great work in the summer.”
