The Arizona Cardinals announced they released cornerback Jalen Davis on Monday.

Davis played in two games for the Cardinals last season after beginning the year on the team’s practice squad. He wore No. 30.

Before joining the Cardinals, Davis was a member of the Miami Dolphins in 2018. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound corner played in three games, recording a forced fumble, a sack, six tackles and two QB hits.

Davis went undrafted in 2018 after spending four seasons at Utah State. He totaled 181 tackles, 17.0 of which were for losses, 4.0 sacks, five interceptions and 15 pass deflections over his college career.

Davis was behind in the nickelback pecking order after Byron Murphy and Kevin Peterson. The Cardinals also have undrafted rookie and Arizona Wildcats product Jace Whittaker competing for a roster spot.

NFL team rosters must be cut to 53 players by Saturday.
