The Phoenix Mercury will have to navigate the rest of the season without one of their main scoring threats.

The Mercury announced Monday guard Bria Hartley tore her ACL in Friday’s 94-72 win over the Washington Mystics.

Hartley played eight minutes in the victory, scoring five points and grabbing a rebound. She went 2-for-2 from the field.

In her first season with Phoenix, Hartley was a main cog in the team’s offense, averaging 14.6 points, fourth on the team, and 4.5 assists per game, second to guard Diana Taurasi’s 5.0, in 13 games. She also averaged 2.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals per contest.

The injury marks the latest blow for the Mercury, who are without center Brittney Griner after she left the WNBA bubble due to personal reasons.

The Mercury are 9-7 in 2020, good enough for fifth in the Western Conference with six games left to play in the regular season.
