Breathe a sigh of relief, Arizona Cardinals fans.

Running back Kenyan Drake was out on the field for the open portion of practice during the final day of Cardinals training camp on Thursday, according to reporters.

Drake had missed the last week of practice after dealing with what head coach Kliff Kingsbury described as soreness.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Drake, who was seen in a walking boot on Aug. 24, was being held out as a precautionary move and the RB would return to the gridiron “pretty soon.”

Drake reiterated he was feeling good and was in a walking boot around the same time last summer.

“Just trying to stay consistent lol no worries I’m good,” he tweeted that same day.

A healthy Drake is vital to a team looking to contend in a highly competitive NFC West.

After joining the Cardinals midseason last year, Drake was the spark the team needed to take that next step under Kingsbury rookie quarterback Kyler Murray.

In just eight games with the Cardinals, Drake compiled eight touchdowns and 643 yards on 123 carries (5.2 yards per rush). He caught 28 of his 35 targets for 171 yards (6.1 yards per reception).

As the lead back, Drake hopes to improve on his 2019 numbers, while also becoming more of a threat in the Cardinals’ passing game.
