Former Arizona running back J.J. Taylor has reportedly been waived by the New England Patriots.
Taylor, who played for Arizona from 2016-2019, was cut by the Patriots on Saturday as teams thinned their rosters to 53 players, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
The Patriots have waived RB J.J. Taylor, an undrafted free agent out of Arizona who showed well during training camp, per source.
Would be a logical practice squad addition if he clears waivers.

Yates reported that Taylor impressed as an undrafted free agent during training camp and the Patriots may try to add him to the practice squad.
Taylor played four games as a true freshman before suffering an injury that led him to redshirt the season.
He won the Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year the following year and broke out in 2018, rushing for more than 1,400 yards. He had more than 1,000 yards from scrimmage last season.
Over Taylor’s 40 games, he averaged 5.6 yards per carry on 587 touches and had 3,750 yards from scrimmage.
The deadline to cut roster sizes down to 53 players was at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
