The Arizona Cardinals have made some changes to their defense.

The team announced Tuesday it has signed defensive lineman Angelo Blackson to a one-year contract. The Cardinals also released defensive end Michael Dogbe.

Blackson started 15 games for the Houston Texans last season, recording 20 tackles and a QB hit. Before his time with the Texans (2017-19) — who cut the DL Saturday — Blackson spent time with the Tennessee Titans from 2015-16.

Dogbe played in eight games with the Cardinals as a rookie in 2019. He recored eight tackles, one for a loss, and a QB hit.

In addition to the 53-man roster update, the team also signed tight end Jordan Thomas and punter Richie Leone to the practice squad and cut tight end Dylan Cantrell.

Thomas played in 21 games the last two years as a member of the Houston Texans. He had 21 catches for 223 yards and four scores over that span.

Leone rejoins the Cardinals after spending the 2017 preseason with the team. He’s played for the CFL’s Ottawa Redblacks the previous two seasons. He was named an All-Star in 2019 after leading the East division with a 48.4 punting average.
