The Arizona Cardinals announced on Wednesday that the team has re-signed cornerback Jalen Davis to the practice squad.

Davis, 24, spent training camp with the Cardinals before being released on Aug. 31.

He was signed after Arizona lost cornerback Chris Jones to the Detroit Lions’ 53-man roster. Detroit signed Jones, who spent time with the team in 2018, off the Cardinals’ practice squad on Wednesday.

Jones played in 13 regular season games for Arizona last year, posting 22 tackles. He had three tackles in the 2019 season opener for the Cardinals, who hosted the Lions.

Davis played in two games for Arizona in 2019 after spending most of the season on the Cardinals’ practice squad.

Davis was an undrafted free agent out of Utah State and signed with the Miami Dolphins as a rookie in 2018.

In his rookie campaign, Davis compiled six combined tackles (five solo), one tackle for loss, one sack, one forced fumble and two QB hits in three games played.

The Cardinal also lost offensive tackle Alex Light to the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday.

Light, 24, was an undrafted free agent out of Richmond in 2018 and signed with the Green Bay Packers. He appeared in 16 games the past two seasons, playing at both guard and tackle, with 13 games played in 2019. He was released by Green Bay and picked up by Arizona just this week.
