Duke confident through spring training

For Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zach Duke, buying into general manager Kevin Towers’ plan is simple.
In contrast to the Pittsburgh Pirates organization he was with since the beginning of his career, Duke is confident all the right moves have been made throughout the offseason to make this season’s D-backs a contender.
“You can definitely tell that there is not going to be an acceptance of losing here,” Duke told Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug and Wolf Friday morning.
Bringing in veteran guys, like Geoff Blum, Melvin Mora and Russell Branyan, who can still contribute is a significant aspect of the impact Towers is making with the club.
A solid, friendly clubhouse environment early this spring for new additions, like Duke, is another.
“We have good guys that are always pulling for each other,” Duke said. “Everybody wants to make this team as good as it can be.”
