The Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers will play a second spring training game at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium to benefit the Tucson Together Fund.

The game will take place on Friday, March 25, at 1:05 p.m. and will help raise funds for the victims of the tragic January 8 shooting and their families.

“Words cannot describe how saddened our organization has been over this horrific tragedy that took place in our own backyard,” said D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall. “We are deeply appreciative of the invitation to play and to bring a special community together in honor of some true heroes.”

The Tucson Together Fund is dedicated to providing assistance to those hurt financially by the tragedy. The Fund covers short-term and long-term expenses that victims, witnesses and their families face in the aftermath.

The Pima County Sports and Tourism Authority and Pima County are also joining efforts to promote and support the game.

“Shocked and saddened by the event of January 8th, we desired to help the families of the victims who still suffer significant hardship,” said Dan Schneider, MLB Liaison of the Pima County Sports and Tourism Authority. “With that in mind we reached out to Major League Baseball, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Dodgers with an appeal. It is our honor and privilege to join them in this effort.”

The proceeds of the D-backs and White Sox game at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium on Monday will be provided to the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Fund. The D-backs and Dodgers game expands the proceeds to involve all victims.
