It was a banner week for Arizona Diamondbacks right fielder Kole Calhoun, resulting in the MLB veteran being named the Player of the Week in the senior circuit.
The Buckeye native joins New York Yankees second baseman DJ LeMahieu on this week’s list, after smacking 6 home runs and 12 RBIs during the week.

Calhoun’s week to remember kicked off last Tuesday, when he had three hits, two home runs and five RBIs in the team’s 9-8 victory over his former squad, the Los Angeles Angels.
His week got better from there, as he belted home runs in three of the team’s next five contests, including a two home run, four RBI showing against the Houston Astros on Saturday night.
Last week’s performance was quite the turnaround for Calhoun, who has struggled in his first season in the Valley.
So far this season, Calhoun has hit for a .233 average with 15 home runs and 36 RBIs in 21 games played.
He was able to raise his average by 24 points during the week, however, while boosting his OPS from .810 to .894.
Calhoun is currently tied for ninth in home runs and 17th in RBIs, with the 32nd-best OPS in the majors.
The 32-year-old will look to continue his recent hot streak this week, as the D-backs close the year with six home games, including two against the Texas Rangers and four versus the Colorado Rockies.
