Chase Field upgraded for 2011 baseball season
The Diamondbacks announced several additional cosmetic changes to Chase Field Monday to prepare for the 2011 MLB season along with the All-Star events coming to Phoenix this summer.
The retractable roof of the stadium was resurfaced over the spring and two 170-by-45 foot Chase Field logos will be applied to the roof panels over the next two months, according to a release from the team.
The D-backs also installed new baseball photos on the four door panels on the north side of the stadium and a solar shade structure near the main entrance of the field.
The solar structure will help generate 75 kilowatts of power and provide shade for fans entering the stadium, the release said.
The inside of the stadium has been renovated too with changes to the party suites in the Upper Concourse of right field and new LED high-definition lineup boards on the scoreboard expected to enhance the game experience.
“We have continued to enhance the fan experience at Chase Field over the last five years by adding or renovating numerous features to ensure the ballpark remains not only the finest facility in Arizona, but one of the premiere sporting venues in the country,” D-backs’ President & CEO Derrick Hall said.
