The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Monday that their organization features the lowest Fan Cost Index in the MLB for the fifth consecutive season.

The D-backs’ Fan Cost Index for this season is $120.96, more than $70 below the industry average of $197.35.

The Fan Cost Index is a representative look at the cost of a family of four to attend a MLB game computed annually by Team Marketing Report since 1991. The total cost is compromised of four average tickets, two beers, four soft drinks, four hot dogs, parking for one vehicle, two game programs and two adult-sized caps.

“Keeping D-backs games affordable for our fans has been a top priority,” said D-backs’ President & CEO Derrick Hall. “We have been leaders in the sports industry for the past five seasons by being the most affordable option among professional sports teams and have had the lowest average ticket price among all of the teams in Phoenix.”

The D-backs average ticket price of $15.74 for the 2011 season ranked third among all MLB clubs, finishing only 44 cents behind the Pittsburgh Pirates for first atop the list. The third-place finish ended the D-Back’s four-year run of having the lowest average MLB ticket price.
