Diamondbacks open season in the cold

The Diamondbacks opened their 2011 season with a three game series in Colorado against the Rockies. They played two of them.

Sunday’s game was postponed due to snow, and upon leaving the cold of Colorado the team headed even further north to Chicago for a series with the Cubs. Uhh, what?

“I don’t know if I necessary enjoy it,” D-backs closer J.J. Putz told Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug and Wolf about playing in the cold. “You know it’s just something we have to deal with.

“I’m still kind of confused as to why we always send the warm weather teams up north instead of the other way around, but hopefully that’s something we can iron out in the next bargaining agreement.”
