Diamondbacks option pitcher Travis Bergen to alternate training site

The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned left-handed pitcher Travis Bergen to their alternate training site after Friday’s doubleheader against Colorado.

Bergen posted a 4.05 ERA in seven appearances with Arizona, earning one save with a 1-0 record and eight strikeouts in 6.2 innings pitched.

The Diamondbacks close out the regular season with home games against the Rockies on Saturday and Sunday, with tonight’s contest scheduled to start at 5:10 p.m. local time.

Sunday’s season finale is scheduled for 12:10 p.m., with southpaw Madison Bumgarner toeing the rubber for the Diamondbacks.
