Cardinals place running back Jonathan Ward on active roster

Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Ward has been elevated from the team’s practice squad to its active roster.
Ward signed with the team in the offseason after going undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft.
He played college football at Central Michigan, where he ran for 2,539 yards and 28 touchdowns in 42 games.

The 22-year-old finished his senior season in 2019 with 1,108 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns.
Ward will wear number 38 with the Cardinals against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
