NFL postpones Patriots-Chiefs game after positive COVID tests

The New England Patriots’ contest against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday has been postponed after players from both teams tested positive for COVID-19.
The Patriots confirmed the postponement via Twitter on Saturday morning, though they didn’t release the name of the player who tested positive.

The Patriots-Chiefs cancellation is the second COVID-related one this week, following the Tennessee Titans’ game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
ESPN reported on Saturday morning that quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for the coronavirus.

Kansas City Chiefs’ reserve QB Jordan Ta’amu also tested positive for COVID-19, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

No makeup time has been announced by the NFL or either team, though ESPN’s Adam Schefter hinted that the game could be played on Tuesday night.
