The Arizona Cardinals announced Saturday that they have elevated running back Jonathan Ward and cornerback Jace Whittaker to the active roster ahead of the Week 4 game against the Carolina Panthers.
Ward was also on the active roster last week against the Detroit Lions. An undrafted rookie out of Central Michigan, Ward had almost 3,500 yards from scrimmage over his four seasons in college.
Whittaker, an undrafted rookie out of Arizona, impressed during training camp and got a spot on the Cardinals’ practice squad.
The cornerback had three interceptions and six passes defended as a senior. He is looking for his first NFL action.
Ward will wear No. 38 and Whittaker No. 39.
The Cardinals and Panthers are scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
