After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the
box score and provide you with instant analysis. So it’s
time to go Inside the Box for April 25, 2011:
Diamondbacks 4, Phillies 0
The Good:
Ian Kennedy threw a great game. He frustrated the big bad Phillies lineup to only three hits in his first career complete game. Kennedy sent eight of them back to the dugout on strikeouts and didn’t give up one walk.
The Bad:
Stephen Drew gave the ball a cold he fanned so many times. He was 0-3 on the game, with all of his at-bats ending in a Cliff Lee strikeout.
The Funky:
In two days, Ian Kennedy became a father, pitched his first career complete game and threw 10 strikeouts for a career-best strikeouts in a single game. Not a bad 48 hours.
