After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the
box score and provide you with instant analysis. So it’s
time to go Inside the Box for April 27, 2011:
Phillies 8, Diamondbacks 4

The Philadelphia Phillies were able to avoid being swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks by posting a 8-4 win on Wednesday.

D-backs’ starter Joe Saunders struggled right out of the gate giving up three runs in the first inning.

Philadelphia tacked on another run in the second inning leaving Arizona to play catch up the rest of the way.

Saunders’ final stat line was six earned runs in 5 & 2/3 innings.

Arizona wasn’t much better with the bats only amassing six hits against Cole Hamels and the Phillies bullpen.

Chris Young was the lone bright spot for Arizona hitting his sixth and seventh home runs of the season.
