Inside the Box: D-backs defense lacking

After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the
box score and provide you with instant analysis. So it’s
time to go Inside the Box for April 27, 2011: Cubs 5, Diamondbacks 3
The Good:
The Diamondbacks seemed to have embraced a never-say-die attitude as the game went on, coming back on the Cubs in the sixth thanks to the hard-hitting Chris Young, Gerardo Parra and Stephen Drew who combined with three hits to drive in two runs and tie the game at 3-3.
The Bad:
Defensive mistakes cost the Diamondbacks the game. Two errors only resulted in one run getting in, but they forced starting pitcher Ian Kennedy to work harder than he should have to get the outs. A botched double play in the ninth by shortstop Stephen Drew opened the door for the Cubs to score the two winning runs.
The Funky:
With their win Saturday at Chase Field, the Cubs clinched the season series over the Diamondbacks. They currently lead 4-2 with only Sunday’s game remaining.
