The Arizona Coyotes locked up two restricted free agents on Monday.

The Coyotes announced they’ve signed defenseman Kyle Capobianco to a two-year deal while agreeing to terms on a one-year contract with fellow defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin.

“We are very pleased to re-sign Ilya and Kyle,” Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong said. “Ilya is a tough, physical defenseman and Kyle is an excellent skater and a skilled blueliner. We look forward to having them as part of our corps of defensemen next season.”

Coyotes insider Craig Morgan first reported the news. He added the signings are both one-way deals.

Morgan notes that Capobianco is set to make $700,000 in his first year of the new deal and $850,000 in Year 2. Lyubushkin is expected to make $1 million.

In nine games with the Coyotes last season, Capobianco posted one goal and one point. He had 11 shots on goal and registered two PIM. As a member of the Coyotes affiliate Tucson Roadrunners, Capobianco registered 10 goals and 27 assists for 37 points in 42 games.

Lyubushkin saw 51 games last season with the Coyotes. Over that span, the defenseman recorded eight assists for eight points. He registered 41 shots and posted 18 PIM. In two games with the Roadrunners, Lyubushkin registered two PIM.

Capobianco enters his fifth season with the organization, while Lyubushkin enters his second season with the club.
