There isn’t much that legendary Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek hasn’t done in his seven-decade television career.
Trebek, who was born and raised in the Ottawa suburbs, lent his TV skills to Tuesday’s NHL Draft, announcing the Ottawa Senators’ first-round pick, which turned out to be Tim Stützle.
The announcement blew up online, with Trebek using the ‘who is’ answer format that’s become synonymous with the trivia gameshow he’s hosted since 1984.

Trebek attended college at the University of Ottawa, which is less than 20 miles from the Ottawa Senators’ arena.
The legendary Canuck has delved into the sports world on his gameshow through the years, trolling University of Michigan football fans and smacking his head at contestants’ inability to answer simple questions about the NFL, NHL or MLB.
Trebek is a longtime Los Angeles Kings supporter, going so far as naming the team’s play-by-by announcer as a potential successor whenever he retires from his hosting duties on the gameshow.
He once again managed to lend a hand to his home city on Tuesday, giving the draft a highlight moment few will forget.
