Cody Bellinger robs Fernando Tatis Jr.’s HR, keeps Dodgers in front

It’s rare for an individual play in the field to win a baseball game, but that’s what Cody Bellinger will have done if the Los Angeles Dodgers hold on Wednesday night.
It was in Game 2 of the National League Divisional Series between the Dodgers and San Diego Padres, no less.
With San Diego Padres star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. up to bat with a runner on first trailing 4-3 in the seventh inning, Tatis smashed a 99 mile per hour fastball over the middle of the plate to deep center.
Bellinger got a tremendous beat on the ball, timing his steps to the wall perfectly before leaping and making one of the plays of the postseason thus far.

His pitcher appreciated it.

We should also mention that Bellinger’s solo homer in the fourth was responsible for that fourth Dodgers run as well.
The Dodgers entered the game with a 1-0 lead, and could find themselves in a commanding position for the series if Bellinger’s game-saving catch was indeed the difference.
Twitter reacted appropriately.
Oh my goodness.

Unreal catch by Cody Bellinger, robbing Fernando Tatis Jr. of a go-ahead, 2-rubn HR

That was an incredible cool baseball moment. Numbers won't be massive given the night but if you were watching Dodgers-Padres, how cool was that?
