Inside the Box: Nady lifts D-backs to first place

time to go Inside the Box for May 29, 2011: Diamondbacks 4, Astros 2

The Arizona Diamondbacks completed a sweep of the Houston Astros on Sunday with a 4-2 win.

The D-backs have now won 14 of their last 16 games and stand atop the NL West with a half game lead over the Giants.

Xavier Nady’s two-run double in the eighth inning put the D-backs ahead after trailing for most of the game.

Starter Josh Collmenter had another solid start only giving up two runs in six innings pitched.

Aaron Heilman, David Hernandez and J.J. Putz pitched three innings of shut-out baseball in relief.

For Putz, it was his 16th save in 16 save chances this season.

Arizona(29-24) returns home in first place in the division taking on the Florida Marlins Monday.
