The Arizona Cardinals placed defensive lineman Rashard Lawrence and offensive lineman J.R. Sweezy on injured reserve, the team announced Saturday afternoon.

Both players were injured during the Week 5 game against the New York Jets on Sunday. Lawrence, a rookie, hurt his calf, while Sweezy suffered an elbow injury.

No corresponding roster moves were immediately announced.

Rule changes for this season only mandate three weeks of missed time on injured reserve before players are eligible to return to the field.

Sweezy played more than 90% of offensive snaps over the first four weeks of the season before getting injured against the Jets. He played all 16 games for the Cardinals last season, his first in Arizona.

Lawrence, over the first five games of his career, recorded three total tackles. He was a fourth-round draft pick out of LSU.

Linebacker Kylie Fitts has also been ruled out of the Week 6 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Saturday that the team is still unsure if linebacker Devon Kennard or safety Jalen Thompson will be able to play against Dallas.

The Monday Night Football game is scheduled to kick off at 5:15 p.m.
