Diamondbacks trade deadline options

For the first time since 2007, the Arizona Diamondbacks will likely be buyers, rather than sellers, at the trade deadline.
The Diamondbacks, who have won eight of their last 10 and are in first place, are coming off a 19-win month a May, their most successful May in franchise history.
Former Diamondback and current special assistant to the President and CEO Luis Gonzalez believes an extra bat, and some more power in the lineup, may be just what this team needs to return to the playoffs.
“If we can add one more bat, maybe a third baseman, a power hitting third baseman,” Gonzalez told Sports 620’s Doug and Wolf. “Not to say [Melvin] Mora’s not a bad fix over there. He’s good for us but at the same time he moves the ball around, sprays it around but you’d like to have one more guy with some thump in the lineup that’s a potential homerun threat when he comes to the plate. That only makes your lineup stronger.”
The Diamondbacks also have Ryan Roberts at third, which currently ranks second among third basemen in slugging and third in home runs, However, Roberts only batted .244 in May which has caused many to question hot start and ability to produce in the long run.
A trade may be Arizona’s best option at third base and there are a few names that seem to be likely trade prospects.
