Seahawks-Cardinals injury report: ‘Hopeful’ for DeAndre Hopkins

Arizona Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins participated in practice on a limited basis Friday while dealing with an ankle injury, one that coach Kliff Kingsbury said is a lingering issue he’s played through in games the past several weeks.

“Hopeful that he can go again this Sunday and be full speed. It’s been lingering a little bit,” Kingsbury said.

Kingsbury said he hopes the upcoming bye after a Sunday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks will allow Hopkins to get completely past the issue.

If Hopkins takes the field against the Seahawks, he won’t have to face safety Jamal Adams, who has already been ruled out for the Week 7 game at State Farm Stadium with a groin injury. Adams suffered the injury in Week 3 and has missed the Seahawks’ last two games.

Hopkins did not practice Thursday or Wednesday.

Cardinals defensive lineman Jordan Phillips (foot) was the only player who did not participate in practice Friday.

Offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum, corner Dre Kirkpatrick, linebackers Kylie Fitts and Dennis Gardeck were all limited in practice Friday. All, plus Hopkins, are listed as questionable.

Arizona could potentially welcome back starting safety Jalen Thompson (ankle) for the first time since Week 1 in the next few days.

“I’m not sure if we’re going to make it this week, but he’s definitely improved,” Kingsbury said. “We just want to make sure when he is out there he’s full-go.”

For Seattle, guard Mike Iupati remains questionable with a back injury.
