D-backs to begin seven game road trip

Just a half game out of first place, the Arizona Diamondbacks continue to be one of the hottest teams in the major leagues.

Although the Diamondbacks did lose two of four to the Washington Nationals, they have won seven of their last 10 and are playing their best baseball of the season.

Arizona has Monday off as the team will travel to the East Coast for a seven game road trip with three games against the Pittsburgh Pirates and four games against the Florida Marlins.

The Diamondbacks and Pirates have yet to play this season, but the series certainly appears winnable for Arizona.

Pittsburgh is in fourth place in the National League Central and is two games below .500.

While Pittsburgh is known for struggling, they have had a bit of a hot stretch as they won six of their last 10 and just took two of three from the Phillies.

The Diamondbacks are certainly a better team than the Pirates, but Arizona is just an average team on the road this season as they are only 13-14 away from Chase field.

After leaving Pittsburgh, the Diamondbacks will head south to Florida for a 4-game series against the Marlins.

The Marlins and Diamondbacks played just last week in Arizona, a series in which the Diamondbacks won two of three and outscored the Marlins 23-14.

Florida currently sits in second place in the N.L. East, but the Marlins have lost seven of 10 and are in the middle of a 4-game losing streak.
