The finalists for the 2020 Gold Gloves were announced on Thursday and two Arizona Diamondbacks made the cut.
David Peralta got the nod in left field, joining the Cincinnati Reds’ Shogo Akiyama and Tyler O’Neill from the St. Louis Cardinals.
In right field, Kole Calhoun is nominated alongside the Colorado Rockies’ Charlie Blackmon, Mookie Betts of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs’ Jason Heyward.
Peralta is coming off winning the award in 2019, his first time picking up the accolade. This season for Arizona, Peralta hit .300 with five home runs and 34 RBIs.
Calhoun won his first and only Gold Glove in 2015 with the Los Angeles Angels. In his first year with the D-backs, Calhoun batted .226 with a team-high 16 homers and 40 RBIs.
Looking at defensive metrics, Peralta converted 86 of his 87 defensive putout chances last season. Calhoun was 102-of-104.
The winners of the awards will be revealed on Nov. 3.
