Shaw promoted to major leagues

Right-handed pitcher Bryan Shaw has been promoted from Triple-A Reno, while Left-hander Zach Kroenke has been optioned to Reno, according to D-backs’ Executive Vice President and General Manager Kevin Towers.

Kroenke is 0-1 with an ERA of 9.00 and has let opponents hit .333 off of him in the four games he has appeared in for the Diamondbacks.

The 23-year-old Shaw has 10 combined saves this season with Reno and Double-A Mobile. Shaw pitched in 23 games, posting a 4-1 record with a 2.37 ERA.

During his brief eight game stint in Reno, Shaw had a 5.59 ERA, but was 1-0 with 3 saves.

Shaw’s last outing came on June 7, where he tossed two scoreless innings.

Shaw has been in the minor leagues for four seasons and will wear number 37 when he joins the team in Florida.
