The Arizona Cardinals had a lot of eyeballs on them in Sunday night’s 37-34 OT win over the Seattle Seahawks.

The Sunday Night Football game had a total of 14.9 million viewers to be exact.

That metric also eclipsed Game 5 of the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays by 42%, the third-largest advantage ever for SNF.

Sunday Night Football was also watched more than the World Series in 40 of the 44 metered markets, according to NBC Sports.

Ironically, the Cardinals-Seahawks game wasn’t even originally scheduled as the Sunday night primetime matchup.

It was supposed to be the Las Vegas Raiders hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Sin City.

But after a coronavirus scare within the Raiders camp, the NFL elected to switch the games out of an abundance of caution so that if the Raiders-Bucs game had to be postponed, a Sunday Night Football game was guaranteed to be played.

Perhaps the NFL knew what was in store, as both Arizona and Seattle’s quarterbacks put on a clinic.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray posted 360 passing yards for 3 three touchdowns to go along with 14 rushing attempts for 67 and a score, while Seahawks signal-caller Russell Wilson threw for 388 yards and three TDs in addition to his 84 rushing yards on just six attempts (14 yards per carry).
