The 2020 Guaranteed Rate Bowl in downtown Phoenix will take place on Saturday, Dec. 26, at 8:15 p.m. MST, event officials announced on Friday.

The game featuring a Big Ten and Big 12 matchup will be hosted at Chase Field and air on ESPN.

“One big reason why bowl season is so special is because we get to enjoy matchups that we don’t see in the college football regular season, and that’s even more so the case this year,” the Guaranteed Rate Bowl executive director Mike Nealy said a release. “With teams from the Big Ten and Big 12 facing off on a Saturday night on ESPN, playing in a Major League Baseball ballpark, we know the Guaranteed Rate Bowl will be a great one to watch.”

The Fiesta Bowl Organization announced this month that the Cactus Bowl, played the past two years as the Cheez-It Bowl, will be rebranded after reaching an agreement with the retail mortgage lender.

The agreement between the Fiesta Bowl Organization and Guaranteed Rate includes “digital and social media, content, in-stadium exposure, on-site activation at the game and television advertisements,” according to event organizers.

“We’re excited to add one of the fastest-growing mortgage companies, and one that loves sports, into our family,” said chairman of the Fiesta Bowl Organization Board of Directors Patrick Barkley in a release. “Guaranteed Rate is innovative and thinks big, which enhances our efforts as a leader in hospitality, community impact and incredible events.”
