The Arizona Wildcats are getting an earlier start on a different channel Saturday.

The Wildcats’ season opener against the Utah Utes has been moved from 2 p.m. MST on ESPNU to 1:30 p.m. MST on ESPN2.

Dave Pasch and Mike Golic Sr. are on the call for the game.

Last season, the Wildcats fell 35-7 to the Utes. Sophomore quarterback Grant Gunnell, who completed 8 of is 16 passes for 96 yards in the loss, will get the start. The sophomore finished 2019 with 1,291 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception as a freshman.

The change in time and station comes after Wisconsin canceled Saturday’s home game against Purdue due to numerous members of the Badgers testing positive for coronavirus.

School officials announced Tuesday that three more players and two additional staffers have tested positive since Saturday, bringing the program’s total number of active cases to 27. That includes 15 players and 12 staffers.

This marks the second straight week that Wisconsin has canceled a football game due to the outbreak. The Badgers had been scheduled to visit Nebraska on Oct. 31. They called that game off on Oct. 28, the same day they announced that coach Paul Chryst had tested positive.

Neither game will be rescheduled, and all team-related activities remain paused indefinitely.
