Former Arizona State wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk continued to stand out for the San Francisco 49ers before he landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, and Miami Dolphins punter Matt Haack reached a season-high in terms of workload.
Other Sun Devil alums were out due to injury or on a bye week.
Here’s how 14 Arizona State alumni in the NFL fared in Week 8:
49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk
Aiyuk had another standout game last week with eight receptions for 91 total yards and one touchdown. Despite Aiyuk’s performance, the San Francisco 49ers fell to the Seattle Seahawks, 37-27.
Aiyuk was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday as a close contact of Kendrick Bourne, who tested positive for coronavirus. The rookie first-round pick will not play Thursday against the Green Bay Packers.
Cardinals K Zane Gonzalez
The Arizona Cardinals had a bye week. They will face the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Patriots WR N’Keal Harry
Harry did not play last week against the Buffalo Bills after suffering a concussion against the San Francisco 49ers the week prior.
Patriots DL Lawrence Guy
Guy had four total tackles against the Bills. He was unable to finish the game after suffering a shoulder injury. New England lost 24-21.
Dolphins P Matt Haack
Haack punted a season-high nine times last week for a total of 385 yards (42.8 yards per punt average). His longest of the day was 63 yards, and Haack pinned five boots inside the opponent 20-yard line. The Dolphins were able to secure a win against the Los Angeles Rams, 28-17.
Titans OL Jamil Douglas
Douglas played two snaps at guard last week and four more on special teams.
Seahawks DB Damarious Randall
Randall played 14 snaps — four on defense and 10 on special teams — last week in the Seattle Seahawks’ win over the 49ers.
