Former Arizona Diamondback levels Harold Reynolds

Remember Eric Byrnes, the guy who stole earned $30 million over three years from the Arizona Diamondbacks despite playing poorly for the first two and being cut before the third? Yeah, the MLB Network apparently has found his resume — or at least his personality — impressive enough to hire him as an analyst.

We’re not aware of how much the television gig pays but it sure seems like he’s putting in closer to $30 million worth of effort in his new job than he did in Sedona Red. That’s because the other day, as part of a demonstration on the MLB Tonight set, Byrnes leveled fellow analyst and former major leaguer Harold Reynolds.

First, what self-respecting adult wear sneakers with a suit? Second, it would have been nice to see some of that intensity with the D-backs after the contract extension. Instead the club just got to pay $11 million in the final year of the deal for Byrnes to walk away — oh and hit a few adult league softball home runs.
