Arizona Cardinals running back Kenyan Drake may only end up missing one game due to an ankle injury suffered in Week 7.

Drake is expected to play Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Late Saturday night, Schefter tweeted that Drake had a “good chance to play.”

Rapoport followed this Sunday morning by saying the Cardinals expect Drake to play but are uncertain of his role coming off an ankle injury during the Week 7 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

“I am told he is expected to play,” Rapoport said. “They’re going to watch him in warmups, see how he is just to determine how significant of a role, but he should end up splitting carries today in Arizona.”

Drake suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the Week 7 game. Arizona had a bye the following week, and the running back missed Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins.

In his stead, Chase Edmonds got 25 carries for 70 yards against Miami. That was the second-most carries Edmonds has had in his career, and was also only the second time he has had more than 12 touches in a game.

While Rapoport said Arizona was still unsure what the carry split between the two would be against the Bills, Drake will alleviate some pressure off Edmonds.

This season, Drake has 119 carries for 512 yards and four touchdowns.
