Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Corey Peters was carted off in the first half against the Buffalo Bills Sunday due to a knee injury. It took less than five minutes for Peters to be ruled out for the rest of the game.

In the second quarter, Peters was rushing Bills quarterback Josh Allen and appeared to injure himself when going for a hit on Allen after the quarterback had thrown the ball.

He stayed down before the cart was immediately brought out, and gave a thumbs up to the crowd as he left the field.

Arizona is already shorthanded on the defensive line as it is, with Zach Allen, Leki Fotu and Rashard Lawrence (designated for return) on injured reserve, as well as pass rusher Chandler Jones.

Peters, 32, has been with the Cardinals since 2016 and is one of the leaders of the team, holding one of the captain spots for Arizona in multiple seasons.

Through eight games, Peters had 14 total tackles and two sacks.

Peters has 19 sacks over his 10-year career.
