Justin Upton left out of home run derby

He may be the Diamondbacks’ best player, but the only time you’ll see Justin Upton on the field during the All-Star festivities is during the game itself.
Upton, who has hit 13 home runs this season and will represent the D-backs Tuesday night, was not selected by Prince Fielder to take part in the home run derby.
Instead Fielder, the captain of the NL’s team who was free to choose the roster, selected St. Louis’ Matt Holliday, Los Angeles’ Matt Kemp and Milwaukee teammate Rickie Weeks.
Upton previously said he would be excited to participate in the derby, is the D-backs’ lone representative in the game itself.
