There’s still a month away until the opening tip of the 2020-21 NBA season, but oddsmakers in Las Vegas appear to be warming up to the Phoenix Suns’ championship potential in the year to come.

The Suns find themselves in a tie for the seventh-best championship odds, according to Jeff Sherman of Superbook Sports, coming in at 25/1.

The Suns are tied with the Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers, ranking just below the three-way tie of Boston, Miami and Denver.

The defending champion Los Angeles Lakers have the best chance of winning the NBA Finals this year at 3/1 odds, while the crosstown Clippers join Milwaukee and Brooklyn as having the next-best odds at 5/1.

Making the postseason alone would likely be cause for celebration among Suns fans, as Phoenix last made the NBA playoffs during the 2009-10 campaign.

The Suns are riding high, though, thanks to their 8-0 run inside the NBA’s bubble in August in addition to the team’s trade for 10-time All-Star guard Chris Paul.

For now, Suns fans will have to make do with lofty expectations until the league tips off the new season on Dec. 22.

NBA Playoff Odds:

Los Angeles Lakers: 3/1
Los Angeles Clippers: 5/1
Milwaukee Bucks: 5/1
