The Arizona Diamondbacks have surprised everybody this season with their on field performance and trade rumors are beginning to swirl.
The July 31 trade deadline is fast approaching and the right trade could be just what the D-backs need to pass the San Francisco Giants and win the National League West for the first time since 2007.
While deadline deals are not a necessity, players like to see deals get done because it makes them feel ownership is doing everything possible to win.
“I’ve been a part of teams in the past, especially in LA, where I’ve had veteran players come up after the trade deadline where we did nothing and say ‘what, are we throwing in the towel?’ just a few games back,” D-backs President and CEO Derrick Hall said on Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug and Wolf. “But, I think if you look at this group here. They would be satisfied because they think they can win and they have such tight chemistry.”
