Hundreds of families had a brighter Thanksgiving thanks to a former Arizona State Sun Devil football player.

Lawrence Guy, currently with the New England Patriots, adopted a Connecticut elementary school and donated 350 Thanksgiving meals and groceries to families in need.

Guy on Wednesday also provided Thanksgiving meals for over 150 families from a Boston Boys and Girls Club as part of his annual Guy Family Thanksgiving Giveback.

The defensive tackle was selected in the 7th round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers after playing in 35 games over three seasons with Arizona State, recording 122 total tackles.

Guy has 31 tackles so far this season for the Patriots, his fourth season in New England.

He has also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers – now Los Angeles Chargers – and Baltimore Ravens over the course of his nine seasons in the NFL.

Guy’s community giving goes beyond the holidays as his foundation in September donated new backpacks filled with school supplies to 150 students.
