The Arizona Diamondbacks announced they’ve recalled starting pitcher Barry Enright from Triple-A Reno Tuesday.
To make room for the right-hander the D-backs released pitcher Aaron Heilman, who was 4-1 with a 6.88 ERA.
Enright, who was in the starting rotation when the season began, went 1-3 with a 6.49 ERA in six starts. However, since being optioned on May 5 he has gone 8-2 with a 4.29 ERA in 12 games with the Aces.
A popular player, the D-backs are hoping the 25-year-old finds the form that allowed him to post a 6-7 record last year with an ERA of 3.91.
